Who are we, and what are we all about?

A Bit About Me

First and foremost, I am a mom of two amazing boys; okay, at 23 and 21, they are men! I am also a wife, a daughter, a sister, a teacher, a cat lover (Daisy and Hazel are very involved shopgirls), and a friend. Last, but certainly not least, I am a lifelong stitcher.

From the age of five, I have experienced needlepoint as a constant companion. My WIPs have kept me grounded, supported, and nurtured throughout life’s trials and tribulations. Never was that more true than in 2021-2024, when my nest emptied and my lovely father passed away. Were it not for the hearts I stitched while sitting by his hospice bed, I would have been completely untethered.

As one does during a period of transition, I found myself contemplating “the meaning of it all.” What surfaced was a deep desire to invest in the things that fed my soul. Enter Threading Treasures.

What is Threading Treasures all about?

Creating and stitching my own designs for many years was satisfying, but I found myself craving more. The next logical, if not a little crazy, step was to start a small needlepoint business. Aware of the industry pain points - affordability and accessibility - I set out to break some rules with my new venture.

I know this is a hot take, but not everything you stitch has to be an heirloom. It’s okay to pick a canvas just because it looks fun. It’s also okay to stitch something you can self-finish, use for a while, and replace with something else later. Not everything we make has to span generations. It’s even okay to never finish something. If you are getting a benefit from stitching, you are doing it right. (And guess what? These non-heirloom pieces shouldn’t break the bank!)

My father believed wholeheartedly in the power of positive thinking. In honor of him, I designed my first canvas line to send messages of positivity into the needlepoint community and beyond. Since then, I have found canvas inspiration around every turn. Colors, patterns, seasonal changes, and memories of days gone by resonate in my designs. With everything I create and present to the world, my ultimate goal remains the same: to offer fun, manageable, affordable projects that feel good to make.

Threading a canvas - any canvas - leads to a treasure every time.
